WATCH: House goes up in flames in Bergbron
Paramedics were still on scene at midday assessing the fire fighters as they battled the blaze
An 82-year-old man made a lucky escape from a residential fire that completely gutted his house on the corner Gordon & Franschhoek Road in Bergbron this morning, 30 May.

Ross Campbell, ER24 spokesperson, said, “ER24 paramedics were on the scene with the City of Johannesburg’s Emergency Management Services at 10.45am to find that the man had managed to get out of the house just in time. He was assessed for smoke inhalation and was unharmed.”
Fire fighters from CoJ EMS were on scene until well after noon, as they battled the blaze.
The cause of the fire is unknown, but local authorities were on scene for further investigation.
