Standard Bank Innibos – Digital and world wide!
Sandra Jacobs, marketing manager of Innibos, said the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic forces artists and festivals alike to be more creative and proactive than ever before.

The Standard Bank Innibos Arts Festival launches a digital arts festival on 26 June with an exciting programme of music and theatre.
This digital event does not replace the arts festival that is planned for December, but is an added-on experience to coincide with the date Innibos would have been hosted in Mbombela this year.
Innibos Digitaal will have 20-odd productions, some of which include archived recordings from previous festivals as well as new productions recorded exclusively for streaming during the digital festival.

The drama Leengoed, with Tobie Cronjé, will debut at Innibos Digital – a first virtual debut in the Afrikaans theatre industry. The fourth annual Innibos National Craft Awards Exhibition, which received more than a thousand entries, is also going ahead.
A virtual exhibition will be held on Friday, 26 June, showcasing 60 shortlisted works. Radio personality Carol Sanderson will introduce each piece to viewers before the Mpumalanga MEC for Culture, Sport and Recreation, Lindiwe Ntshalintshali, will announce the winners and declare the online music and performing arts festival, Innibos Digital, open.
Sandra Jacobs, marketing manager of Innibos, said the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic forces artists and festivals alike to be more creative and proactive than ever before.
“Innibos Digital provides an alternative and extra platform to participating artists. It is also necessary for the festival industry to adapt to the changing arts environment, and make use of the available technology. We want to make full use of these new opportunities.”
Several new productions will be recorded in collaboration with Coleske Artists and MGG Productions. The Innibos Digitaal programme includes the JacarandaFM and kykNET Birthday Concerts, which drew thousands of people to the festival last year, as well as the acclaimed Athol Fugard drama People are living there. The full programme will be released soon.
Book your tickets for the Standard Bank Innibos Digitaal from 15 June at Computicket. You will be sent a link that will be active for 48 hours after being activated.
The planned date for the full Standard Bank Innibos Arts Festival is 10 to 13 December, depending on government regulations regarding the Covid-19 pandemic.
