A clean up for better vision

The residents embarked on the clean-up mostly to rectify a situation whereby motorists coming out of Skateboard Street had their view badly obstructed for those wanting to enter Jim Fouché Road.

On Saturday morning, 2 January, residents from Panorama Residents Association (PRA) and Panorama Residents Estate rolled up their sleeves in their successful attempt to remove overgrown vegetation on Jim Fouché Road.

The residents embarked on the clean-up mostly to rectify a situation whereby motorists coming out of Skateboard Street had their view badly obstructed for those wanting to enter Jim Fouché Road.

According to the residents, grass has been cut back while bushes and alien vegetation has been cut down to allow people to see down the road.

PRA confirmed that they will most definitely have to get Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo (JCPZ) involved as a bigger clean-up will have to be done to remove more of the alien vegetation.

Due to a series of storms towards the end of 2020, JCPZ announced that they are prioritizing fallen trees obstructing main roads as well as those that had fallen on walls, homes and vehicles.

JCPZ, who manages the city’s zoo, parks, cemeteries as well as open and conserved spaces, appealed for patience from the community as their teams work to attend to the backlog of queries.
