CPF patroller team proves to be effective

After investigating and doing some checks it was established that the bakkie was hijacked earlier in the day in Olivedale.

On the evening of 4 June and while on duty, one of the Honeydew Community CPF patroller teams drove past a suspicious-looking bakkie which was parked on the side of Kelly Road.

After investigating and doing some checks it was established that the bakkie was hijacked earlier in the day in Olivedale.

Police back-up was requested immediately and a Honeydew Police Reservist responded to the call.

It was confirmed that earlier in the day the owner of the bakkie had opened a case, and the Reservist subsequently booked in the vehicle at the pound.

“Well done to all our patrollers who offered up their time and warmth to keep our community safe, and did great work recovering the vehicle.

“As the residents are aware, Honeydew CPF has a volunteer patroller programme, and they are looking for more members to join,” said Jon.

Members of the community who want more information or would like to join the patroller programme are advised to get in contact with Jon Rosenberg on 082 450 2305.
