Family tied up during armed robbery

According to the police, one of the thugs kept watch outside the property while the others robbed their victims.

The police in Muldersdrift are investigating a case of armed robbery after a family was tied up and robbed.

Sergeant Mulalo Ndou, communications officer for Muldersdrift Police said that on October 3 at around 20:00, six armed thugs stormed a house on Glory Road. “While one was waiting outside the property, the family was ambushed and tied with cell phone cables. TVs, laptops and other belongings were stolen from the house.”

Ndou could not confirm whether any of the victims were injured during the incident. None of the suspects have been caught yet.

During a crime-awareness campaign in the area on September 28, Sergeant Sabelo Simelane said they were aware that in some areas of Muldersdrift and Rietfontein people were attacked frequently. He said they planned to increase manpower and have more police officers doing patrols.
