A family is reeling after their matriarch has been violently ripped from their lives.
A woman in her mid fifties has been stabbed to death and a man of unknown age has been arrested after shooting her attacker in the early hours of Monday, October 18. The incident occurred at roughly 03:00 when a man, believed to be in his early 30s, attacked and stabbed his mother, fatally wounding her. The female victim’s son-in-law then retaliated, fatally shooting his brother-in-law.
The knife wielding attacker is said to have recently been released from a drug rehabilitation centre and the deadly argument at the Eeufees Avenue residence is believed to be related.
Florida Police station commander, Colonel Amos Tsotetsi, confirmed the incident, stating that the matter is currently under investigation and that the shooter would appear in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court in due course.
