One person is dead after an armed robbery in Zwartkop, Muldersdrift on November 10.
According to reports, four armed intruders broke through the fence on the property, and cut the lock of a door to the domestic quarters. “All of them were armed with firearms and knives,” said Deputy Chairperson of the Muldersdrift CPF, Paul Catlett. “The other door was kicked in. A staff member came out with a knobkerrie and approached the suspects. A single shot was fired and the staff member soon died from his injuries.”
Catlett shared that the deceased had very few possessions in his room and allegedly only a cell phone was taken.
Communications officer at Muldersdrift Police, Sergeant Mulalo Ndou said, “The intruders pointed a firearm at the victim and there was a fight which resulted in one person being shot in the upper body; he passed away on the scene. The belongings of the deceased and other people on the property were taken. The investigation continues.”
