Langa said the video contained sensitive visuals and urged South Africans not to share it on social media.

In a statement regarding the incident, Langa said a case of discharging a firearm was being investigated.

“The allegation is that the guest was fighting with staff at Misty Hills Lodge. The manager requested the guest to leave and said the lodge would refund him, but he refused. When the security member and manager followed him to his room and requested him to leave, he became more aggressive,” she said.

Police were then called to assist and according to Langa when the police arrived the guest allegedly started fighting with the police.

“He took a firearm out of the bed drawer and cocked it. One bullet fell out. It is alleged the guest disarmed one police officer of his firearm.”

She said the guest was in possession of two firearms. A police officer then took out his service pistol and shot the guest once in the head.

“The guest was taken to hospital under police guard, and the allegation is that the wife of the guest was present when it all happened at the venue.”
