Suicide suspected in Mulderdrift vehicle fire

The community witnessed a man set himself on fire in his car.

On Sunday, November 21 Emergency services, Mulderdrift police and CPF responded to a tragic vehicle fire that claimed the life of an unknown man.

Reports on scene indicated a possible suicide while members of the community where advised to avoid the area until the scene was cleared.

“I can confirm the incident happened at about 9:30am on Sunday, November 21 that an unknown male driving a white Chevrolet Aveo was driving along Beyer’sNaude  towards lanseria  when the witness saw the driver turned to the gravel road and parked under a tree suddenly they saw the fire coming from the driver’s side, the police were called and emergency personnel were called investigation continues,” said Mulderdrift police station spokesperson Sergeant Molalo Ndou.
