Random security patrol leads to arrest

Security officers caught a suspect in the act of vandalising infrastructure

A suspect is currently in custody at the Honeydew Police station after he was nabbed by BCI Security on December 4.

Herman Coetzee from BCI Security said the suspect was apprehended due to the recent spate of infrastructure damage. “While on a patrol on Pierre Road, our tactical team noticed three suspects vandalizing a gum pole and electricity cables. The suspects took off and ran away when they noticed our team and a foot chase ensued. One suspect was apprehended and taken in for vandalism of infrastructure and attempted theft.”
