The first country market took place at Rusty Hook on Sunday March 13 and brought out an array of attendees and their beloved pets. The market had a mix of crafts, homemade produce, locally baked treats, pet products and a play area.
The hot weather provided the perfect setting for outdoor festivities and community gathering. Although people trickled in in smaller numbers than expected, vendors were optimistic that the market would soon grow in numbers.

Tanya Poole, who was one of the vendors, said, “Well it’s the first market here and it has been going a bit slow but we are hoping it’s the first of many. We are hoping that as people learn about the market here, they will come in their numbers.”
Mother and daughter duo, Rentia Blauensteiner and Heila Vandenbosch said they thought the market would be bigger. “It is a bit small but it has been such a nice outing. We got a lot of great products and overall it really has been nice.”

The market has been put together to support local crafters and products. It accommodated the whole family, and the bar and restaurant at Rusty Hook were also open on the day.
