The Ruimsig parkrun once again got underway at the Ruimsig Athletic Stadium on Saturday, March 12 as runners, walkers and volunteers joined the popular event that takes part every Saturday around the world.
For many parkrunners it’s the support and encouragement from fellow parkrunners, whether friends, volunteers or even total strangers, that create thousands of communities, and keep people coming back for more.

The organisers of the Ruimsig parkrun congratulated Bruce Jonker, Matthew Looi, Roxanne van Eyk, Gavin Looi, Gareth Looi, Martie Moore, Wilma Senekal, Pam Looi, Nosipho Gabela, Sipho Khulekani, Zola Dhlodhlo and Schalk van Schalkwyk on their maiden parkruns.
Saturday, March 5 marked event number 91 for the Ruimsig parkrun and 209 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 29 were first-timers and 32 recorded new personal bests.
The event in which representatives of 16 different clubs took part was made possible by 19 volunteers.
