A craft market to celebrate Women’s Day

According to the organiser Thelma Botha, the idea was to give talented local people the opportunity not only to make some money from the products they make, but also to network and have some fun promoting their products.

Traditions on National Women’s Day are to celebrate women in every aspect of life while showing them support and appreciation.

Most of the time in their lives, women maintain a balance on so many commitments and responsibilities, deal with so much, and look fantastic while getting everything done.

Tuesday, August 9 saw Flowers, Seeds and Busy Bees, and Oh My Beans coffee shop host a Multi-Charities Women’s Day craft market at the nursery in Florida.

According to the organiser Thelma Botha, the idea was to give talented local people the opportunity not only to make some money from the products they make, but also to network and have some fun promoting their products.

Those who attended the event enjoyed live music from Pieter Lerm who played an array of music from all genres and decades that everyone could relate and sing along to, or tap their feet.

The food and drinks were also a real treat.

“It was a huge success; the weather was wonderful and the music was exceptional. We advertised the event in the local papers, and we’ve never had so many people in the nursery at one time. We’re hoping the event also promoted our beautiful nursery and coffee shop within our community. Like everything in life, nothing happens without collaboration so we would like to thank everyone – the vendors, the customers and our wonderful staff,” said Thelma.
