Embracing change and improving lives
Sometimes, meeting the right people and being inspired by them can make the path to recovery just a little easier.
The colour green is often associated with growth and on Friday, August 26 South Africa’s ‘green bank’ made it their aim to create an experience for women at the Institute of Grace (IOG) to flourish.

IOG was founded in 2015 by Pastor Curt van Heerden in hopes of helping those who are in the grip of substance abuse. Van Heerden has always had a passion for people and it has always been his dream to help others.
Inspired by the cause, Nedbank’s Team Kganya-Khanyisa paid a special visit to the centre’s women as part of the Nedbank Team Challenge.
“Team Kganya-Khanyisa has entered the IOG for 2022 as part of our Corporate Social Investment project. Believing in the organisation and understanding it is our responsibility as a community. We need to contribute to bringing about the change we want to see,” Masi Kgaphola from the Nedbank Team Challenge said.
During the event guest speaker Valma Buitendacht empowered the women in attendance, and vocal artist KLC delivered a stunning performance. With the help of some fine apparel, hair-styling and make-up each woman felt as beautiful on the outside as they are on the inside.

“It was lovely getting to meet the women and spending some time with them. We hope our efforts made them feel as beautiful as they truly are,” Valma said.
Team Kganya-Khanyisa hopes to see the ladies again soon and wishes them only the best on their path to recovery.
