Traffic alert: Protest march at Zandspruit

Motorists are urged to avoid Beyers Naudè Drive between Zandspruit and the Honeydew Police Station.

The Honeydew CPF issued a warning to motorists to avoid Beyers Naudè Drive between Peter and Braam roads due to impending protest action this morning, June 27.

According to Honeydew CPF’s public relations officer Michael Steyn, the march was verified by police and is expected to commence at 09:00 in Zandspruit at Marina Street and Peter Road, and conclude at about noon at the Honeydew Police Station, where participants aim to hand over a document to police.

“While the specific details of the protest have not been disclosed, we would like to ensure residents and road users that both the police and JMPD will be present to monitor and manage the situation,” he says.

“The protest is expected to be peaceful, but we nevertheless urge residents and motorists to avoid the affected area due to expected traffic disruptions.
