ATM bombing leaves one dead

Police are on the lookout for suspects involved in the ATM bombing at the Sasol Mozart service station early this morning.

A brazen ATM bombing and shootout shook the community and night shift workers at the Sasol Mozart service station on Paul Kruger Road and Mozart Street.

At about 02:00 this morning, November 15, community WhatsApp groups reported gunfire and a loud explosion, prompting security companies to be on the scene. Tragically, one person lost their life in the incident, and the heavily armed suspects fled into the nearby greenbelt.

According to a statement released by BCI Security, a helicopter was deployed to aid in the search, but no arrests have been made. Residents should remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to their local authorities, as the police have taken over the investigation.

The Roodepoort Northsider requested comment from police, however, none was forthcoming at the time.
