Two illegal car guards have been arrested for being in possession of dagga and vodka.

Two illegal car guards have been arrested on the corner of General Pienaar Avenue and Ham Street for being in possession of dagga and vodka.

The guards were arrested during a joint drugs operation between Roodepoort Police, the Witpoortjie Emergencies Crime Prevention Volunteer Unit, National Assist, EC Security, Cobra Tact Ops, and CRS Security that targeted the business centre and Vredenhoek Street park.

The guards were found with dagga, knives, and packets of vodka. Although nothing was found at the park, it is also known for notorious criminal activities.

According to Brendon Kincaid member of the Witpoortjie Emergencies Crime prevention Volunteer Unit, he spotted one of the car guards one Saturday allegedly selling to school learners.

“We take pride in protecting and ensuring that the community is free and say from any criminal activities. In collaboration with law enforcement agencies, we will continue doing these operations in the area,” he says.
