Bodies of two women found in field: Roodepoort police seek witnesses
Roodepoort police have called on residents to come forward with information after the bodies of two women were discovered in Matholesville.
Police in Roodepoort are investigating a case involving two counts of murder and have called on witnesses to come forward with any information that may assist them.
This was after the bodies of two women were discovered by a passer-by in an open field in Matholesville on April 3, at about 11:00.
According to Roodepoort Police Station Commander Brigadier Irene Sekwakwa, officers, upon their arrival at the scene, discovered the bodies of two unidentified women with their hands bound together.
They had sustained bullet wounds to their upper bodies and were certified dead at the scene.
“The motive behind the killings is not known and no arrests have yet been made,” she says.
“Police investigations are continuing, and we appeal to community members with any information regarding the incident, or any details that could assist with the investigation to contact the nearest police station.”
