Vehicle hijacked during armed robbery recovered
During the robbery, a security officer was also shot and was rushed to the hospital.
A vehicle that was hijacked during an armed robbery in Horison was successfully recovered by security officials in the area.
According to a statement sent to the Roodepoort Record by Shane Loubser from Help24 Secure, on Saturday, November 8, the team received a tip-off from community groups of an armed robbery taking place in Horison.
Upon arrival, it was discovered that a security officer had been shot and was transported to the hospital for further treatment.
“While this occurred, information came through that a vehicle was hijacked during the robbery. The last update received was that the vehicle was in the vicinity of Newlands and Delarey,” the statement read.
In swift response, security personnel were dispatched to track down the vehicle.
“Our reaction officer made a crucial discovery, coming across a vehicle matching the description, which was being operated by TAU Security.
“TAU Security and Help24 confirmed that the vehicle had indeed been hijacked, and it was promptly secured.”
Florida SAPS was notified, and the vehicle was recovered. The owner of the vehicle was contacted and confirmed that the vehicle was recovered.
“We extend our best wishes to the security response officer who was injured during the incident. We do not have any further information on the outcome, but we wish the officer a quick and full recovery.”
