Two men arrested for crystal meth possession
The arrests by the Johannesburg Flying Squad were made in Florida and Fleurhof.
The Johannesburg Flying Squad arrested two men in Florida and Fleurhof on Tuesday, December 9, for being in possession of plastic bags containing crystal meth.
According to the media liaison officer of the squad, Raymond Sambo, at about 14:30, while the team was patrolling in Florida, a white Toyota Quantum was stopped and searched at the corner of Westlake and Main Reef Road.
One of eight passengers was found with ziplock bags containing crystal meth and was arrested and detained by the Florida Police Station.
Later that day, at about 18:00, the team conducted another search in Fleurhof at the corner of Amarula and Turtle Road.
During the search, one man was found with 10 ziplock bags containing crystal meth. The suspect was subsequently arrested on a charge of possession of an illegal substance and was also taken into custody by Florida police.
“Both suspects will be appearing at the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court in due course,” said Sambo.
