Stolen motorcycle intercepted on Wilgerood

The stolen motorcycle and the suspect was handed over to Roodepoort police for further investigation.

A motorcyclist was intercepted and arrested on April 12 along Wilgerood Road for being in possession of a stolen vehicle.

According to Beagle Watch Security owner Andre Aiton, their license plate recognition (LPR) network registered a sighting of a motorcycle linked to an active case number, as it moved through the area.

“Our CCTV operator immediately alerted the dispatcher, who dispatched response officers to the scene.

“One of our response officers managed to intercept and stop the motorcycle at the corner of Wilgerood Road and Argent Avenue, with a second officer providing backup.

“Police were contacted and responded to the scene, and both the rider and the motorcycle were taken to Roodepoort Police Station for further investigation.”
