Eight arrested in Zandspruit for business robbery
A joint police operation led to the arrest of eight suspects, including two police officers from Florida.
The Tactical Response Team (TRT), in collaboration with Gauteng Traffic Police, has arrested eight suspects, including two serving police officers, following a business robbery in Bedfordview.
According to Gauteng police, a co-ordinated operation led to the arrests after officers acted on intelligence about a group allegedly stealing stock from a storage facility.
Police reported that the suspects were caught in the act of loading stolen goods before fleeing the scene in a Toyota one-ton truck and two Volkswagen Polos.

A high-priority response was immediately initiated, with support from the SAPS Air Wing assisting in tracking the suspects.
The vehicles were intercepted in Zandspruit, where all eight suspects were apprehended without further incident.
In a development that has raised serious concern within law enforcement, two of the arrested individuals are members of the Florida Police Station.
Gauteng police spokesperson Captain Tinstwalo Sibeko strongly condemned the alleged involvement of its members in criminal activities, stating that such conduct undermines public trust and the integrity of the organisation.

All suspects face charges of business robbery and possession of stolen property. They are expected to appear in court as investigations continue.
Two additional suspects managed to evade arrest in a nearby informal settlement. They have been identified and are being actively traced.
Further investigations are under way to link the suspects to other related crimes.
