Would-be burglar arrested

One man was arrested for illegally gaining access to a residential property in Florida.

One man was arrested while trying to break into a house in Madeline Street on April 20.

According to EC Security area manager, Dawie Prinsloo, officers received a WhatsApp notification about suspects attempting to access the residential premises at about 05:48 and immediately raced to the scene.

“A reaction unit was dispatched and arrived on scene shortly thereafter,” he says.

“The resident confirmed that multiple suspects had been on the premises.

“During a search of the property, one suspect was located hiding and was successfully apprehended.

“The remaining suspects had fled prior to the officer’s arrival.”

Prinsloo adds that the suspect was searched and was found to not be carrying Any weapons.

“A further search of the premises revealed that the suspects had gained entrance to the property by cutting a fence and jumping over the wall.

“Luckily, they did not manage to steal anything.

“Florida police were called and upon their arrival, the suspect was taken into custody.”
