Robbery suspects, including 2 Florida police officers, get bail
The eight suspects are accused of business robbery and have been released on bail, with the case postponed until June 26.
The eight suspects caught with stolen goods in their possession after robbing a business in Bedfordview were granted R2 000 bail each when they made an appearance in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court on May 4.
Two of the suspects are serving members of the Florida Police Station who were arrested after a co-ordinated operation by the Tactical Response Team (TRT) and Gauteng Traffic Police, who acted on intelligence about suspects allegedly stealing stock from a storage facility.

Police allegedly caught the suspects loading the stolen goods into a one-ton truck. They fled the scene in the truck and two other vehicles, and a high-priority chase ensued, supported by the police Air Wing, which was monitoring from the air.
The involvement of the two police officers has raised serious concerns within law enforcement. Authorities have condemned the alleged conduct, saying it undermines public trust and the integrity of the police service.
Magapoke Mohlatlole of the National Prosecuting Authority told the Roodepoort Northsider that the case has been postponed until June 26 for further investigation.
