Spring Fling Potjie Charity Drive for Cansa

Tasnim Young Norris is a cancer survivor and a Mrs South Africa 2022 finalist who has been celebrating each year she's been in remission. She dedicated this year's celebration to Cansa.

On Saturday, September 24 Mrs South Africa 2022 finalist, Tasnim Young Norris hosted a fun-filled Spring Fling Potjie Charity Drive to raise funds for Cansa.

Guests got to enjoy a perfect day of sunshine filled with live entertainment, good company and of course some great food.

“I am a cancer survivor myself and I have been throwing a celebration party each year I’ve been in remission – which has been for the past five years. This year I decided to combine this celebration with my charity event which forms part of my Mrs SA campaign. I chose Cansa as a beneficiary because the organisation lies close to my heart,” Tasnim said.

About 10 teams of four people each entered and sponsored a potjie of their choice. There were beef, lamb, chicken, trotters-and-beans and chicken-and-prawn potjies, to name just a few.

Tasnim was happy that everyone in attendance enjoyed a lovely Heritage Day meal and that she’d managed to contribute a sufficient amount towards the very worthy cause.

The Mrs South Africa finalist was also excited to welcome two NPOs – Warriors with a Purpose and Jason’s Angels – that celebrated the special event with her and supported the drive.

“It was such a fun day and everyone was just so happy to be celebrating life. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of the event, including Chi Chi for their support and sponsorship, and D&G Events who sponsored the decor and helped put everything together,” Tasnim concluded.

She is looking forward to an even bigger celebration next year.
