Mrs World 2016 Candice Abrahams discussed her views on how the media affects our lives during one of Crawford International Ruimsig’s Transdisciplinary Unit courses.
She emphasised that the media significantly affects our attitudes, habits, and beliefs.


She explained that the media has a significant influence on how we view the world, including how we see ourselves and other people as well as how we make decisions.

According to Abrahams, the media has a significant impact on how we view happiness, success, and attractiveness. She pointed out that the pictures and words we see in the media may lead to exaggerated expectations as well as a sense of worthlessness or inferiority. Abrahams urged the kids to be conscientious of the media they watch and to consider the messages it conveys.

During the presentation, Felicia Goosen also talked about and discussed her upbringing in the media. Goosen claimed that to reject the media’s influence and embrace her distinctive character, she had to put in a lot of effort. She urged people to follow her example and realise their worth and value, regardless of how they appear or what the media portrays them as.
