UPDATE: South African Scotties one step closer to coming home!

Adam, Isla, and Nyala are doing quite well under the circumstances.

After two Scottish terriers were denied permission to leave Sudan and their owner chose to stay behind to ensure their safe return to South Africa, Adam Young and his two terriers, Isla and Nyala, have been the subject of much discussion in recent days.

Adam, Isla, and Nyala are doing quite well in the circumstances, per Amanda-Leigh Robinson, who has been leading a team of dog lovers and rescuers volunteering to get the trio back home.

Amanda-Leigh said, “We are so grateful to Andy and Shelley Drynan for welcoming our intrepid trio into their home. We are still expecting a quote from the Cairo agency regarding the flight, the clearance certificate, and other matters at this time.”

They need to locate new cages for the pups to travel in, as their current ones have taken a pounding and are not International Air Transport Association (IATA) approved.

She also noted that finding new housing would be necessary because the current arrangement is just temporary.

“There is a lot of red tape, so we must always treat officials with respect and consideration. We appreciate everyone who has contributed so far towards their expenses. The next update, which will announce that a flight has been booked, cannot come soon enough,” said Amanda-Leigh.
