Scotties safe and sound

Isla and Nyala finally made it home.

On May 4 the Record reported on the struggles a family fleeing Sudan with their two Scottish terriers experienced.

On May 12 the two Scotties finally returned to South Africa safe and sound. Their owner Adam Young was able to fly home a day before the Scotties, as the cargo hold of the original flight, intended for the Scotties, was found to be unsuitable for animals.

“The flight was without any incident … We are going to see if we can get permission to go visit the Scotties. They are on special food, Julie du Preez, from City Pets Wilropark, arranged some dog food for them, which we need to take, and of course, we want to give them some hugs and kisses,” stated Robinson.

“Thank you to Julie, Melody van der Walt, Shelley Dryden, and Joanna Chen, all the way from the USA. They deserve a thank you after many sleepless nights arranging accommodation, transportation, long distance phone calls until the early hours of the morning. An amazing team effort to help Adam and his Scotties.”
