Rest Ur Ass Donkey Sanctuary hosts another market

Local donkey sanctuary takes another activation to raise funds for donkeys.

Workers’ Day fulfilled its purpose when hundreds of people came together to relax and have fun while watching and petting amiable donkeys at the Rest Ur Ass Donkey Sanctuary Market in Ruimsig.

The sanctuary hosted one of their well-known and loved donkey day markets with the hopes of raising funds for the 153 donkeys in their care.

According to Lloreen le Roux, the organiser of the market, all the proceeds from the sanctuary’s markets go towards the care of the donkeys, not only in Ruimsig but also support local communities in Limpopo and Bela Bela.

“We support their donkeys, clean their wounds, vaccinate, and microchip them. We also have therapy on Thursdays for people with special needs to come and relax while watching the donkeys. We are blessed and grateful for all the support we get; every effort goes a long way for us to care for all the donkeys,” she said.
