Ride or run for a good cause

The Muscular Dystrophy Foundation invites families, cyclists and runners to their Hope in Motion event at Hoërskool Florida.

Lace up your running shoes or hop onto your bicycles and become part of a day filled with hope, unity, and purpose at the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation Gauteng Branch’s upcoming Hope in Motion event.

Families, runners, cyclists, and local vendors are encouraged to gather at Hoërskool Florida on September 19 for a fun-filled fundraising event aimed at supporting individuals and families living with muscular dystrophy.

According to Robert Scott, general manager of the foundation, the event will also be supported by Run/ Walk For Life and promises an exciting atmosphere, with activities planned for people of all ages.

“We are a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by muscular dystrophy and related neuromuscular conditions. Through awareness generation, support services, and assistance with disability equipment where funding allows, we strive to improve quality of life for those affected,” he said.

The event starts at 09:00 to 17:00, with attendees able to enjoy flea markets, delicious food stalls, as well as running and mountain biking activities. Participants can make use of a dedicated 2km track, where they can run or cycle as much as they like throughout the day.

Robert said the event is more than just a recreational outing.

“It is an opportunity for the community to come together and make a meaningful difference.”

All proceeds raised will go towards empowering individuals and families affected by muscular dystrophy through the work of the foundation.

“We invite everyone to come and be part of something meaningful. Whether you are a runner, cyclist, vendor or simply a supporter, your presence will help us spread hope and raise awareness.”

Entrance is R20 per person. Community members and businesses interested in participating or getting involved are encouraged to contact Robert on 011 472 9824 or email mdfgauteng@mdsa.org.za.
