Injured family still in limbo as Bolt remains silent
The incident has raised questions about Bolt's accountability system and and responsiveness to passenger injuries.
A young family that was involved in an accident while in an e-hailing cab ride is still waiting for answers from the company after they have managed to obtain a case number from the Honeydew Police Station.
The accident was at the intersection of JG Strydom Road and Sonneblom Avenue, across from the BP Service Station near the Palm Court Centre.

According to Dominique Stasio, she, her partner, and their seven-year-old son were passengers in a Bolt vehicle that was struck by another vehicle while the driver was turning at a traffic light.
The child sustained facial injuries requiring stitches, and both mother and son were hospitalised.

Dominique alleges that the driver failed to report the accident to the authorities or Bolt, and that Bolt remained unaware of the incident until she reported it via the app and email.
Almost a month after the accident, the family is still dealing with the devastating injuries they sustained, which have left their son with multiple stitches, visible scars on the side of his face and eye, and chest infections.
“Blake is back at school and the teachers have explained to the other children that he was involved in a car accident,” said Dominique, who was worried about him missing out on school when he was hospitalised.
Dominique expressed deep disappointment with the way in which this matter was handled by both the driver and Bolt itself, as they trusted the company with their lives, and they are now left to deal with the aftermath on their own. The family hopes that there will be light at the end of the tunnel, and proper investigations will now take place since they have a case number from the police.
The Northsider has tried to contact Bolt for comment, but has received no response as all the emails bounce back undelivered.
A message detailing the events has been sent to the company’s social media accounts and an update will be published once a response is received.
