Pastors across Roodepoort met at C3 Life Changers Church on Saturday, August 29, for a spiritual crime prevention breakfast to support local police in combating crime through faith and moral leadership.

Attendees included church leaders, Roodepoort police officers, Community Policing Forum members, and representatives from various non-profit organisations.

As stakeholders shared a cup of coffee, the programme featured keynote messages from pastors, who offered police officers and CPF members words of encouragement, faith and hope.

Pastor Banie Homan explained that the Divine Intervention Initiative was established in 2018 with the aim of bringing spiritual support into the fight against crime.

He said the initiative seeks to advance the Kingdom of God while encouraging a culture that contributes to safer, crime-free communities.

“While the police address crime on a physical level, we as pastors believe we have a role to play on a spiritual level. We also want to strengthen the relationship between the police and the community by encouraging everyone to work together in tackling crime,” said Homan.

Apostle Mello du Plessis said the initiative’s focus now is on expanding its reach by encouraging more pastors and community leaders to become involved.

“We need more pastors and community leaders to join us so that we can work hand in hand with the police. By standing together, we can make a stronger impact and ultimately help Roodepoort become one of the leading police stations in the country,” he said.
