MOTHs host annual braai to benefit military vets

The Moths exchanged their tin hats for a 'boshoed' for the day.

The Dardanelles Shellhole of the Memorable Order of the Tin Hats (MOTH) in Florida held its annual Boshoed Braai on August 30.

The event is held to raise funds for the various charitable efforts that the MOTHs conduct throughout the year, in aid of military veterans.

Residents descended on the MOTH Hall in numbers, eagerly taking part in the various draws and competitions held on the day, all while socialising with friends and neighbours.

According to Old Bill Robert Engelbrecht, these events also present an opportunity for families to come out and have a good time.

“The weather was beautiful, and we are privileged that the community came out to support us.”

As always, the MOTHs pulled out all the stops to make their guests feel at home. The day came to a close with a delicious meal prepared on the braai.
