A woman driving a white Toyota hatchback lost control of her vehicle along Hibiscus Street shortly after 13:00 this afternoon, October 16, and plummeted nearly 30 metres down a hill.
The car came to a stop about halfway down the embankment between Hibiscus Street and Foxglove Avenue after tumbling over two steep, rocky ledges.
According to FirstHelp recovery personnel, it remains unclear how the incident occurred, as Hibiscus Street features a sharp bend at the top of the hill where speeding is unlikely.
“The woman sustained mild to serious injuries and was transported to hospital,” said FirstHelp recovery driver Ferickus Reid.
“It was a very challenging recovery because the car was lodged awkwardly on a rocky outcrop,” he added.
FirstHelp received assistance at the scene from members of the Roodekrans Neighbourhood Watch.
At the time of publication, the woman’s condition was not yet known.
