Traffic advisory: Truck stuck on N1 North

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes as traffic is backing up quickly.

A truck travelling towards Pretoria on the N1 North became stuck under the bridge at Gordon Road this afternoon, October 22.

The Roodepoort Record received reports from motorists that the truck was stationary in the middle lane of the highway, causing traffic to back up quickly.

Photos from the scene indicate that the truck has since been dislodged but remains too tall to clear the bridges along the route and is currently being offloaded.

The Record contacted Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) spokesperson Superintendent Xolani Fihla for an update and will publish his comments once received.
