Alter Egos hosted an unforgettable event themed “A Viking Thing” where guests embraced the spirit of the Norse era, at Rusty Hook on Saturday, November 1.
Attendees dressed up as various Viking characters that symbolised their aura, complete with horned helmets, furs, shields, and axes, creating a lively and immersive atmosphere. The day was not only about fun and revelry; it also carried a poignant undertone.

With different stalls, live music and lively energy, attendees also had the opportunity to show off their best costumes through a panel of judges, and one Viking in particular, Danie van Zyl, stole the show and received first place for his Viking gear.

Guests also commemorated deceased loved ones with a Viking-style funeral tribute, honouring their memories with symbolic rituals inspired by ancient Norse traditions. Candles, ceremonial tokens, and symbolic “sending off” gestures offered a respectful and moving way for participants to reflect and remember.
