FullFlame brings festive joy to children

This was more than just an act of kindness; it was a sign of shared humanity, and the gifts have warmed the little hearts.

Learners at Thabang Primary School were treated to a joyful and memorable morning when FullFlame Life Church, in collaboration with Ruimsig Academy, visited to donate Christmas presents and hygiene packs on Wednesday, 26 November.

The schoolyard was filled with excited voices, bright smiles and a strong sense of togetherness that set a warm tone for the festive season.

The church’s outreach co-ordinator, Thato Phiri, said the visit was about far more than handing out gifts.

“This initiative represented more than just giving Christmas and hygiene packs. It was about bringing hope, showing love, and being a blessing to our community,” he said.

“Our purpose has always been to extend the heart of Jesus to those around us, to serve, uplift, and remind every child that they are seen, valued and deeply loved.”

Explaining the reason behind the outreach, Thato said, “To share God’s love practically and create moments of joy for children who deserve to feel celebrated.”

He added that seeing the children’s excitement confirmed the effort was worthwhile.

“Many children expressed their gratitude, and their smiles showed how meaningful it was for them to receive not only the packs but also the time, presence and encouragement from our team,” he said.

Reflecting on the impact of the initiative, he added, “This outreach reminded us of the beauty of community. When we come together with a heart to serve, we plant seeds of hope that can grow far beyond the event itself. The children left encouraged, and our team left inspired, knowing that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference.”

As the event drew to a close, the learners performed a poem to thank the team, and the school staff expressed their appreciation for being chosen and for receiving early Christmas gifts.

“We are grateful to everyone who supported and served, and we look forward to continuing to be a light in our community,” Thato said, thanking the volunteers who gave their time to bring joy to the school.
