Security officer shot while responding to house robbery

A private security officer is recovering in the hospital after being shot while responding to a house robbery in Struben Valley.

A security officer was wounded in the early hours of Friday, March 6, while responding to a house robbery in Struben Valley.

According to MGN Security’s marketing officer Thato Maloma, the incident occurred at about 03:30 when one of their reaction officers responded to a house robbery.

Upon arrival, the officer encountered four armed robbers at the scene. During the confrontation, the robbers allegedly opened fire on the officer, striking him before fleeing the scene. Emergency assistance was immediately arranged, and the injured officer was transported to the hospital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.

The four robbers remain at large, and authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

Maloma thanked all responding teams and authorities for their swift support during the incident.
