MindfulSpace4U to host wellness open day

The space offers those looking to pause, reset, and focus more mindfully a place to do so right in the neighbourhood.

Residents looking for a moment to slow down, breathe, and reconnect are invited to experience MindfulSpace4U at its upcoming Open Day this Saturday, April 11.

Located in Weltevreden Park, the wellness space offers a supportive environment where people can explore practices such as meditation, yoga, and tai chi, while taking time out from the stress and busyness of everyday life.

Owner Komcilla Sewram said MindfulSpace4U was created to give people a place where they can slow down, breathe and reconnect with themselves.

“Many of us are living in a near-constant state of doing, rushing from one responsibility to the next, often carrying an invisible weight of stress and anxiety,” she said.

Komcilla explained that meditation is not about escaping from life, but about learning to move through it with more calm, clarity, and balance.

“Beyond science, meditation offers something deeply human: a moment to pause, a moment to breathe, and a moment to reconnect with ourselves,” she said.

She added that people do not need any experience to begin.

“You don’t need to clear your mind or sit perfectly still for hours. It can begin with simply closing your eyes, noticing your breath, and allowing yourself to be present for a few minutes each day,” she said.

At MindfulSpace4U, the focus is on creating more than just a studio. “We create a welcoming space, a community, a sense of family, where individuals can explore these practices in a supportive, guided environment,” Komcilla said.

The open day will allow residents to experience the space, learn more about the different practices on offer and discover the sense of warmth and belonging that MindfulSpace4U hopes to bring to the community.
