According to DLN principal and owner Leonie Leppich, the highlight of the day was the Reading Awards, given to learners who read the most books in their phase.

Winners were presented with certificates and special gifts, acknowledging their enthusiasm for reading and dedication to learning beyond the classroom.

“The awards aim to inspire a lifelong love of books and encourage curiosity among all students,” Leonie said.

In addition to reading achievements, each class presented a trophy to a learner voted by teachers for their all-round excellence. Teachers considered factors such as academic performance, motivation, work effort, and behaviour in making their selections. These trophies celebrate learners who demonstrate leadership, perseverance, and a positive attitude both in and out of the classroom.

DLN is preparing for its annual school camp in April. Following the camp, final decisions regarding learner leaders will be made, taking into account growth and development observed during the term.

The awards ceremony was a memorable occasion, celebrating the achievements of all learners and inspiring them to continue striving for excellence in the months ahead.
