A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a bakkie at the intersection of Corlett Avenue and Ontdekkers Road in Witpoortjie at about 11:00 on Friday.
According to information from the scene, the bakkie was travelling towards Roodepoort when the collision occurred.
The pedestrian was declared dead at the scene, while the driver of the bakkie was not injured.

Details surrounding the circumstances of the crash remain limited at this stage, as JMPD officers and emergency services are clearing the scene and gathering statements.
The incident resulted in significant traffic congestion, with heavy delays reported on Ontdekkers Road in the direction of Roodepoort. The lane heading towards Krugersdorp remained open to traffic while emergency personnel attended to the scene.
