Roodies majorettes secure a spot in provincial team

11 Roodebeeck and Roodenation drum majorette athletes made the Gauteng team.

Eleven talented athletes from Roodebeeck’s Roodenation Majorettes have secured their spots at the Gauteng team, which will represent the province at the 2026 National Championships.

The athletes trialled for their Gauteng Colours through the Federation of Dance Drill Cheerleading and Majorette Sport Gauteng awards event, which was held on August 30.

Head coach of Roodies Sonja Nortman and Tammy van Loggerenberg, a coach for Dowerglen Panthers, were also awarded Gauteng colours. This was the first time coaches were invited to trial, and the successful coaches have been appointed as Gauteng team coaches.

“We are very proud of the team and their hard work,” said Sonja.
