Junior players excel in provincial chess

Their determination and strategy led to these great results that made their school proud.

Two learners from The King’s School West Rand made their school and district proud as they represented Johannesburg West D12 at the Gauteng Provincial Chess Championships at the end of September in Randburg.

Kendall Watkins played against nearly 100 of the best players from across the province in the U11 girls category. She showed determination and finished 50th out of 97 competitors who were battling for the top honours.

In the U11 boys category, Tlami Motsamai delivered an excellent performance. He claimed the ninth position overall out of 97 players.
