Panorama Primary School hosts entrepreneurial Market Day
From sweet treats to creative products, Panorama Primary School’s Gr 7 learners put their entrepreneurial skills to the test during an exciting day of business, creativity and fun.
On September 4, Grade Seven learners at Panorama Primary School put their entrepreneurial skills to the test during the school’s annual EMS Entrepreneurship Market Day.
According to Panorama Primary deputy principal, Lenadi Pulella, the event allowed learners to showcase the business ideas they had developed throughout the term as part of their Economic and Management Sciences (EMS) curriculum.
“Learners were involved in every stage of the project, from the initial planning and development of their business ideas to managing their stalls and compiling their final financial statements for assessment,” she said.
The school grounds were filled with a variety of food, products and entertainment, with learners putting their sales and marketing skills into practice. Sweet treats were among the popular offerings, adding plenty of sugar to the day’s activities.
“The Grade Sevens had the opportunity to present their annual EMS Entrepreneurship Market, and what a great occasion it was,” she said.
Lenadi said the learners had worked on the project throughout the entire term, carefully planning and developing their ideas.
“From the initial planning right through to the final financial statements, everything had to be included for assessment. Although this was an important academic task, there was certainly plenty of room for fun, creativity and, of course, lots of sugar,” she added.
She thanked the learners for contributing to the success of the event by providing food, interesting products and entertainment.
“We hope you made pockets full of profit,” she concluded.
The market day not only allowed learners to put classroom knowledge into practice but also encouraged creativity, teamwork, financial responsibility and an understanding of the fundamentals of running a business.
