City Power is in denial

Peter Ball from Weltevreden Park writes:

I refer to an article about a surge in July that was blamed on cable theft – yea right!

I am amazed that there has been no word on the power surges in Weltevreden Park one afternoon a few weeks ago. The first 320 volts were followed by a 380 surge. The body corporate said it is not worth following up as City Power goes into denial mode.

I, at 71, can’t afford personal insurance so it’s my bad luck to lose two TVs, microwave, Hifi amp, etc. I scrounged to get a TV but still do not have a microwave or the 83cm TV or the Hifi amp – approximate value R6 000 – way out of reach for a pensioner.

Maybe you can stir things up on our behalf, as I can’t be the only one affected. Yet apathy prevails. How sad.
