Many flaws to recycling policy

Law-abiding Witpoortjie resident writes:

This new mandatory programme of the City of Johannesburg has many flaws.

1) What must residents do with garden refuse if they have no means to drive to the unknown drop-off sites because of being unemployed – so no monies for petrol or no vehicle to transport the garden refuse, aka a bakkie?

Why don’t we get issued with special bags for garden refuse that Pikitup collect from our properties?

They are called Pick It Up for that very reason.

2) What happens with those people who already collect items from our dust bins for an income to provide for their families?

3) What happens if I put my bottles aka glass, all plastic items, tins, toilet rolls aka cardboard etc in those bags and these collectors open the bags and take what they want and put the bag in my dustbin or leave those items they do not want on the lawn on the pavement? How can the CoJ then penalise me?
