We need to act now

Brian from Roodepoort writes:

The hot debate today (and yesterday and no doubt tomorrow) is whether we are ‘doing enough to stop global warming’. No doubt, we all have our peculiar arguments.

This isn’t the point. It should be clear to anyone not born (or who arrived here) yesterday that we are in a drought. What has the water department said or done?

Maybe they’re trying to use global warming (or the denial of it) to suit their agendas? Isn’t it about time we face the possibility that our taps could be running dry this time next year? The possibility exists that the well-paid ‘experts’ can migrate to a place of plenty at will, in which case the rest of us need to insist on water restrictions NOW.

Everyone is always able to remember a difference between ‘now’ and ‘then’. I offer this: in the middle of December 2018 we were yet to have had a hail storm.
