Christmas Letter: 2020

To our readers, both young and old, as the end of a very difficult year draws near, we should be reminded that tough times never last, but tough people with an optimistic mindset and determination do.

Thabisile Mgwali, Northside journalist writes:

The year 2020 for me was not the worst year of my life, but it was a challenging one. This really put into perspective for me that your overall health matters more than the other things in life.

Earlier this year, I shared a feel-good story of my three close friends, Simthembile Mahlanza, Phumeza Sentiwe and Wycliffe Mohapi who recovered from Covid-19 at a time when the community needed to know that people do recover from the virus.

I also realised that self-care is more important when you’re going through challenging moments in your life.

To our readers, both young and old, as the end of a very difficult year draws near, we should be reminded that tough times never last, but tough people with an optimistic mindset and determination do.

I’m a great believer that the setbacks we faced in this year will turn into your setups for a great comeback in growth.

Keep calm and carry on, and remember that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself. Let us not worry, and be happy.
