Allen Glen marches on at the APCAN series

Queens had some moments in the match where they looked like scoring a try but the defence of the Eagles would not give away any points on the day.

Both teams from Allen Glen High School played at the APCAN School Rugby Series on Tuesday, 3 September at Hoërskool Florida.

First up was the Eagles team, which played against Queens 2 in a rather one-sided match which saw the Eagles scoring the only points of the game. They scored the first try within seconds from the kick-off and went on to score more tries courtesy of their strong running back line and forever busy forwards.

Queens had some moments in the match where they looked like scoring a try but the defence of the Eagles would not give away any points on the day.

The game between the two sides ended at 45–0 in favour of the Allen Glen Eagles.

In one of the last matches of the day, Allen Glen’s 1st team came up against Rand Park High School’s 1st team, with both sides showing some early determination on the breakdown.

The Rand Park team was the first to show signs of leakages in their defence line and Allen Glen took advantage of the situation and scored what was to be just the first of many tries.

Allen Glen’s 1sts won the match by an impressive 47–0 victory over a Rand Park side that never gave up throughout the encounter.
