Champions Pro Wrestling invites aspiring wrestlers to open tryouts

The time has come for the real deal as aspiring top rope acrobats and powerbomb professionals are invited to showcase their talents.

Even though the adverts said ‘don’t try this at home’, many would have used their couches, bunk beds and younger siblings as props for their Smackdown vs Raw re-enactments.

The time has come for the real deal as aspiring top rope acrobats and powerbomb professionals are invited to showcase their talents. “Champions Pro Wrestling has featured on TV for the past year and we are looking for the next batch of professional wrestling stars. It all begins at our development training school, African Punishment Wrestling, which is now open for business,” said CPW All Africa Champion, The Loudmouth.

CPW and their development branch operate out of Danie van Zyl Centre in Newlands. The gym, located at the corner of Rex Street and Plantation Road, is currently open and wrestlers are invited to come by every Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm. “Tryouts are happening as we speak, and who knows, you could be the next big wrestling sensation featured on CPW’s Mpuma Kapa TV show, Wednesday 9pm on channel 260,” encouraged The Loudmouth.

Successful candidates will receive mentorship from legendary CPW Commonwealth Champion, Ananzi, as well as CPW Heavyweight Champion, Mr Wrestling. Graduates of the school include WWE stars Justin Gabriel and Adam Rose, putting any new blood in esteemed company. Every journey to the main event starts somewhere and only those who dare take the first steps reach wrestling stardom.
